Supporting Northern Cebu Communities After the Earthquake

WMP in an Emergency Project to Support Communities Affected by the Earthquake in Northern Cebu

Following the earthquake that struck Northern Cebu, Watermatic Philippines, in collaboration with another company in the infrastructure sector, immediately mobilized and operated a mobile water treatment unit with a capacity of 5 cubic meters per hour, aimed at providing clean and safe drinking water to the affected residents.

On October 1, 2025, the WMP team traveled north to Bogo City, and later to Medellin, where a suitable water source was found - a deep well at the local hospital.

On October 4, 2025, the initial operation was completed, and the unit began producing clean drinking water. In cooperation between the two companies and in coordination with local authorities, a 25-cubic-meter tank was mobilized to distribute clean water to nearby communities, and residents arrived with their own containers to fill water directly on-site.

Continuous Water Supply and Community Impact

During 11 consecutive days of continuous operation, the unit provided thousands of liters of clean water daily - to hospitals, evacuation centers, and households.

Watermatic’s field team worked with dedication around the clock, averaging 11–13 working hours per day, despite challenging field conditions, to ensure a continuous supply of safe drinking water.

This successful operation highlights Watermatic Philippines commitment to providing sustainable water solutions - not only to industrial and municipal clients, but also to communities in need during times of emergency.
