WMP Volunteers in Jaclupan Desilting Activity

WMP Volunteers in Jaclupan Desilting Activity
In June 2024, during the height of the El Niño season, Watermatic Philippines Corporation (WMP) joined the Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) in a major desilting activity at the existing Jaclupan Water Treatment Plant.
The initiative aimed to remove the suspended silt and accumulated sediments from the bottom of the plant’s filtration basins - a crucial step in restoring optimal flow and improving water quality and supply for the Cebu communities.
WMP took part alongside MCWD employees and other private-sector volunteers, contributing manpower and technical support to help accelerate the cleanup. The team worked together, manually shoveling and collecting silt into sacks, demonstrating WMP’s strong commitment to community partnership, sustainability, and responsible water management.
This effort reflects WMP’s ongoing mission to support water infrastructure resilience and ensure safe, sustainable access to clean water for all.
Watermatic’s field team worked with dedication around the clock, averaging 11–13 working hours per day, despite challenging field conditions, to ensure a continuous supply of safe drinking water.
